Born and raised in Sheboygan, WI, I wanted to showcase the city on a badge. Sheboygan closely associates with Lake Michigan, where surfers also call "Malibu of the Midwest". 1846 is when the city of Sheboygan was incorporated. By researching more about Sheboygan and playing with various fonts, I went with the design that was more clean and simple, with the lighthouse as the center.
